The project\nwill&nbsp;<strong>assess and develop\nnew options of valorisation<\/strong>&nbsp;of oil\nsector lignocellulosic byproducts at current biomass processing and consumption\nsites in the&nbsp;<strong>EU<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>CELAC<\/strong>&nbsp;participating\nproduction Regions, characterizing and evaluating the potential uses of\nbiobased residues attending to the differences in the available volumes, infrastructures\nand market for the products of the proposed valorisation routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve these objectives, the consortium will make an&nbsp;<strong>inventory and diagnostic<\/strong>&nbsp;of the waste generated by the oilseed processing. The project\nwill&nbsp;<strong>develop solutions<\/strong>&nbsp;following the bio-refinery concept giving\npriority to the more valuable options.&nbsp;<strong>Different products<\/strong>&nbsp;will be obtained from a same waste stream: the by-products from oily\nseeds processing (olive and rape seed). Polyphenols and edible oils will be\nobtained<strong>&nbsp;for human\nconsumption, animal feed and cosmetic applications<\/strong>. The other fractions will be used in biogas production, as materials for\ncombustion and energy production and the left over material will be used for\ncomposting or as&nbsp;<strong>fertilizer<\/strong>. The proposed solutions will aim to use the energy recovered by themselves\nand other energy and material complementary sources existing in the nearby. The\nsolutions proposed will be enough&nbsp;<strong>flexible and easily scalable<\/strong>&nbsp;to adapt to the by-product generation in the\nprocessing plants in each studied Region (6 case studies).
