Other elements of the SWOT analysis of the Strategic Plan include the following priority lines of action:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Regulatory updating and optimisation of administrative processes.<\/li><li>Spatial planning and availability of natural resources for the development of marine and inland aquaculture.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The specific objectives of aquaculture development, Innovation in Aquaculture, Specific Objective 2.1, (General Secretariat for Fisheries, 2023) promotes the development of \u2018sustainable aquaculture activities, especially by strengthening the competitiveness of aquaculture production, while ensuring that the activities are environmentally sustainable in the long term\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, the availability of an open sea aquaculture estate on the Basque coast should allow both the diversification of activities and the sustainability of environmental resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2> Objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective is to select an open sea area (over 100 m deep and with a surface area of 1 km2 each for 2 to 4 installations) that can be declared a Fish Aquaculture Production Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two main blocks of tasks are considered for this purpose:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Choice of the location, consultations and drafting of the documentation to be submitted.<\/li><li>Drafting of the final documentation and support in the elaboration of a request for expression of interest for the use of this area by eventual interested parties from the sector.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4>Additional information<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.euskadi.eus\/proyecto\/plan-estrategico-para-el-desarrollo-de-la-acuicultura-2030\/web01-a2arraku\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Plan Estrat\u00e9gico para el desarrollo de la Acuicultura 2030 &#8211; Pesca y Acuicultura &#8211; Euskadi.eus<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.euskadi.eus\/proyecto-de-poligono-acuicola\/web01-a2arraku\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Proyecto de pol\u00edgono acu\u00edcola en el tramo litoral del Dominio P\u00fablico Mar\u00edtimo Terrestre (DPMT) entre Getaria y Zarautz &#8211; Pesca y Acuicultura &#8211; Euskadi.eus<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"two-columns-content-right\">\n        <div class=\"related-members\">\n              \n\n    <article class=\"member \">\n    <div class=\"member-inner\">\n        <div class=\"member-info\">\n            <figure>\n                                    \n                        <picture class=\"image small\">  \n                <source srcset=\"https:\/\/old.azti.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/mgonzalez.jpg\"\/>\n                <img class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/old.azti.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/mgonzalez.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/old.azti.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/mgonzalez.jpg\" alt=\"Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez -
