{"id":26631,"date":"2022-02-10T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-10T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.azti.es\/startups-foodtech-bilbao-revolucionar-industria-alimentaria\/"},"modified":"2022-02-10T22:33:24","modified_gmt":"2022-02-10T21:33:24","slug":"startups-foodtech-bilbao-revolution-food-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.azti.es\/en\/startups-foodtech-bilbao-revolution-food-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"FoodTech startups from around the world will meet in Bilbao to shake up the food industry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul><li>Food 4 Future hosts the second edition of the Foodtech Startup Forum, which will bring together more than 200 international startups in an exclusive 4,000 square metre space<\/li><li>With a specific programme for the three days, participating startups will be able to present their innovations and solutions to investors and corporate ventures, and participate in a B2B meeting agenda with various investors<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bilbao, 10 February 2022<\/strong> &#8211; The second edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expofoodtech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Food 4 Future &#8211; Expo Foodtech<\/a> will have an exclusive space of more than 4,000 square metres to host the entire ecosystem of foodtech startups that are currently developing on the international scene. <strong>From 17 to 19 May at the BEC in Bilbao<\/strong>, hundreds of startups from the Netherlands, Israel, Singapore, USA, France, Spain and the UK, among many other countries, will participate in the <strong>FoodTech Startup Forum<\/strong>, where the most relevant foodtech projects and solutions for the food industry will meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expofoodtech.com\/activities\/foodtech-startup-forum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Foodtech Startup Forum<\/a> is the biggest event in the foodtech sector worldwide, a meeting to develop innovation ecosystems around the value chain of the food industry, where multiple opportunities for contact between foodtech startups, investors, corporate ventures, the food industry and international technology clusters are offered. A real knowledge platform to promote entrepreneurship and the most disruptive innovation projects based on technologies such as IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics; or new ingredients and foods based on biotechnology. The event will be attended by international investors, with a specific programme of B2B meetings between potential investment partners and startups, but also with government agencies, clusters and associations, universities and technology and innovation centres, business incubators and accelerators, so that they can share their ideas and build synergies. In addition, another of the objectives of the FoodTech Startup Forum is to raise the position of Bilbao and the Basque Country as a FoodTech region, an ecosystem that has the support of the Basque Government and is committed to providing innovative responses to the current and future challenges facing the food industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Food 4 Future is a technological event for automation, robotics, packaging and all type of solutions for the food industry value chain, but we have also achieved foodtech leadership with entrepreneurship, startups and investment funds, making them feel a fundamental part of the congress, with a space where there will be content, trends and specific projects for them. It is the emerging companies that can give us new points of view and drive a change in the production model with new business models to be able to reinvent the food industry&#8221;<\/em>, says <strong>Sergio Fabregat<\/strong>, director of Food 4 Future &#8211; Expo FoodTech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Call for innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FoodTech Startup Forum agenda will include a call for proposals open to all startups with innovation projects related to the FoodTech field. The call will be open on the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScNamOT7KeKdQ0LODwgciLuUUnKt-JVL6sRw4Su5KmMyJBsPw\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a> until 14 April 2022. More than 2,000 applications are expected from startups from all over the world, of which 200 will be elected by a committee of experts to participate in the FoodTech Startup Forum 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those selected will participate in the Investment Forums, in the B2B meetings and with a booth in the exhibition area, and will be part of the FoodTech World Map, the first world atlas of FoodTech startups. An opportunity not only to find funding, but also to grow and develop in new markets with global distributors and manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>F4F2022: supporting food entrepreneurship and innovation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first Food 4 Future edition had a wide range of startups and innovation projects, including brands such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alcoholalacarte.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alacarte<\/a> and its automated device that reduces alcohol content and calories in any bottle of wine or liquor while preserving its original flavour; <a href=\"https:\/\/insektlabel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Insekt Label Biotech<\/a> and its vegetable protein alternative developed from crickets and beetle larvae; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biotech-foods.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BioTech Foods<\/a>, a company specialised in producing meat based on animal
