Among other results:<br><ul><li>In one year EROSKI has <strong>reduced the environmental impact of its packaging by 43 tonnes of CO2<\/strong> with the support of a computer tool (eco-environmental software) developed in collaboration with AZTI.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>We have managed to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azti.es\/alimentar-a-las-ovejas-con-lactosuero-para-crear-una-industria-quesera-mas-sostenible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reuse (to feed sheep) over 80% of the whey generated<\/a><\/strong> by the cheese factories in the Basque Country. Preventing whey from being treated as waste and becoming part of the food chain is a new business opportunity for the cheese and food production sector. We have calculated that with the implementation of the measures planned with this initiative, around 500 tonnes of CO2 will no longer be emitted into the atmosphere, which will improve environmental sustainability and the image of the cheese sector. Furthermore, this initiative has sought to promote responsible behaviour by consumers and suppliers through product environmental information guides.<\/li><li>A trav\u00e9s de la implantaci\u00f3n de planes de producci\u00f3n limpia, estudios de eficiencia h\u00eddrica, minimizaci\u00f3n de vertidos en origen u optimizaci\u00f3n del tratamiento de vertidos a final de tubo, hemos logrado, por ejemplo, <strong>reducir el consumo de agua <\/strong>en un 45% y la <strong>generaci\u00f3n del residuo <\/strong>en un 35% <strong>gracias a la <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azti.es\/reducir-los-vertidos-mejorar-la-calidad-del-agua-y-valorizar-los-residuos-de-la-industria-conservera-ya-es-una-realidad\/\" target=\"_blank\">integraci\u00f3n de los vertidos de las industrias conserveras<\/a><\/strong> del Pa\u00eds Vasco\u00a0en la red de saneamiento urbana, mejorando la sostenibilidad del sector.<\/li><li>Through the implementation of clean production plans, water efficiency studies, minimisation of discharges at source or optimisation of end-of-pipe discharge treatment, we have managed, for example, to <strong>reduce water consumption<\/strong> by 45% and <strong>waste generation<\/strong> by 35% <strong>thanks to the<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azti.es\/hacia-la-implantacion-de-la-huella-ambiental-de-producto-en-el-sector-alimentario-de-euskadi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">integration of discharges from the Basque Country&#8217;s canning industries into the urban sanitation network<\/a><\/strong>, improving the sustainability of the sector.<\/li><li>We have validated a system for <strong>evaluating the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azti.es\/productos\/set-de-indicadores-de-sostenibilidad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sustainability of local food products<\/a><\/strong> that allows us to highlight the benefits of local raw materials for the design of more sustainable menus in the community sector.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At AZTI we promote the innovative power of companies, designing socially, economically and environmentally sustainable solutions that motivate and inspire society to live more responsibly, which translates into greater sustainability [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":18439,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_price":"","_stock":"","_tribe_ticket_header":"","_tribe_default_ticket_provider":"","_tribe_ticket_capacity":"0","_ticket_start_date":"","_ticket_end_date":"","_tribe_ticket_show_description":"","_tribe_ticket_show_not_going":false,"_tribe_ticket_use_global_stock":"","_tribe_ticket_global_stock_level":"","_global_stock_mode":"","_global_stock_cap":"","_tribe_rsvp_for_event":"","_tribe_ticket_going_count":"","_tribe_ticket_not_going_count":"","_tribe_tickets_list":[],"_tribe_ticket_has_attendee_info_fields":false},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"tax-big-challenge":[42],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v18.4.1 -
