IV Cross-border Congress on Climate and Coastal Change, Uhinak, to be held on 4 and 5 November in Ficoba (Irun)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The current health crisis resulting from COVID-19, as well as criteria of prudence and responsibility, have led to the decision to move this meeting that was going to be held from 30 September to 1 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organization of the congress, which is already underway, closed the deadline for the reception of abstracts (summary of the communications that opt to be presented during the congress) on May 5 with a significant growth, since 46 have been received compared to 33 in the third edition held in 2018. 14 of the abstracts belong to French speakers, which reinforces Uhinak’s cross-border vocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uhinak is facing its fourth edition under the slogan “Focussed on action against climate emergency” and will bring together representatives of the scientific and technical community and the Public Administration. With an interdisciplinary approach, the congress aims to understand the needs of managers in the face of climate change and see what the scientific community can contribute to solve them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uhinak, Cross-border Congress on Climate and Coastal Change promoted by Ficoba and the AZTI technology centre, is supported by a Technical Committee made up of representatives from the Basque Government (Ihobe), the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the Community of Agglomerations of the Basque Country, Adegi, CSIC\/ESADE\/CEAB, Spanish Office of Climate Change, BC3, EUCC Atlantic Center, the Association of Civil Engineers of the Basque Country, Naturklima Foundation, IAHR (International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research), the Observatory for Sustainability-Fundaci\u00f3n Cristina-Enea, the Euroregion New Aquitania-Euskadi-Navarra and AZTI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uhinak also has the support of many institutions such as the Department of Environment, Territorial Planning and Housing of the Basque Government through its public company Ihobe, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa (Department of Environment), Communaut\u00e9 d’agglom\u00e9ration Pays Basque and the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
