It is worth highlighting the major significance recently achieved by data related to fleet dynamics (ship location spatial data) which have started to be collected recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our experts obtain information from different&nbsp;<strong>biologic parameters&nbsp;<\/strong>(population structure, growth, reproduction, natural mortality, etc.);&nbsp;<strong>behaviour parameters<\/strong>&nbsp;(distribution and migration) from different commercial species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"link-list\">\n    <\/div>\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Integrated_assessment_and_management_of_living_resources\"><\/span><strong>Integrated assessment and management of living resources<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Preserving the sustainability of the marine environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We provide advice to public administrations on the performance of&nbsp;<strong>campaigns for direct assessment<\/strong>&nbsp;of stock biomass through different methods (ichthyoplankton-based, acoustic, optical, etc.). We work hand-in-hand with companies in the sector&nbsp;performing joint research cruises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use novel methodologies to&nbsp;<strong>evaluate the&nbsp;state of stocks&nbsp;<\/strong>(including those with few data) to establish the status of resources, which take into account space-time, species multiplicity, different fleets that exploit them and their economic structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have tools to enable&nbsp;<strong>simulation of&nbsp;different management scenarios<\/strong>&nbsp;and different catching rules andevaluate the&nbsp;<strong>bio-economic impact&nbsp;of management decisions<\/strong>&nbsp;on stocks and fleets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We work hand-in-hand with companies in the sector&nbsp;performing&nbsp;<strong>joint research cruises&nbsp;for the adaptation of the fishing activity<\/strong>&nbsp;to the new European regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"link-list\">\n    \n<a  href=\"https:\/\/www.azti.es\/en\/contexts\/integrated-assesment\/\" \n    class=\"button button-filled \"\n    target=\"_blank\"\n    data-form-id=\"\"\n        >\n        SERVICES, PRODUCTS AND PROJECTS ON INTEGRATED ASSESMENT\n    \n    \n    \n    \n    \n    \n<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ecosystem_approach_to_management\"><\/span><strong>Ecosystem approach to management<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Our research work is conducted within the framework of international bodies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We investigate on the\u00a0<strong>impact of natural variability and climate change<\/strong>\u00a0in the dynamics of fishing resources. We simulate the consequences of exploiting species at a certain level and how this could impact other species which are caught with them.
